Returned Postal Delivery Baffles Hotelier

Round Scotland in 2020 Days: Returned Postal Delivery Baffles Hotelier A Perthshire hotelier has been left baffled by the return of a marketing campaign, over 2000 days since it was originally sent out. Murray Scott, managing director of The Angus Hotel in Blairgowrie received an “addressee gone away” response to a marketing mailer on 22nd April this year, but didn’t immediately recognise it as a recent campaign. Further inspection showed that the item was originally posted on 11th October 2007. Commenting, he said: “It’s fairly normal for a small proportion of mailers to be returned within a few weeks of a campaign being issued. People move house all the time and, understandably, they don’t always tell us when they have. But to receive something that has been in Royal Mail’s hands for the last six years is fairly incredible. Angus Hotel says you’d Have to be Crackers to Spend Christmas at Home

Angus Hotel says you’d Have to be Crackers to Spend Christmas at Home A Perthshire hotel is encouraging Brits to stand up to the stress and costs of a traditional Christmas this year, and spend the festive season with them instead. The Angus Hotel in Blairgowrie, Scotland, has been entertaining guests at Christmas for almost 60 years and, with the cost of Christmas at home continuing to escalate, they say that Christmas at home is no longer such a great deal for the average family. With the British Poultry Council predicting that turkey prices could rise 7% this year, and a poor Brussel sprouts harvest meaning that we’ll be shelling out 42% more on our veg, it’s not surprising that the hotel industry, with all the benefits of trade prices at their disposal, can simply offer their guests a better deal.
